What to expect
Bright colors and small shops. Every block has a landmark restaurant or late night hangout spot.
Diverse in culture, fairly young, and looking to surround themselves by good food and great fun. Traditionally a lower income neighborhood, East Austin has recently experienced a cultural and economic revival, returning many of the city’s best restaurants, coolest bars, and youngest professionals to this rapidly gentrifying Austin hotspot.
Rent is more affordable in East Austin. With all of the low cost, up and coming developments, it’s not a long shot to find a cheap pad. Nonetheless, the closer to I35, the higher the price.
