UGA Local Spotlight: The Georgia Theatre

UGA Local Spotlight: The Georgia Theatre by Amanda Bridges

The Georgia Theatre is one of the most well-known and beloved places in Athens. And no wonder why - it's an incredible concert venue that also features a rooftop bar perfect for the local "Bulldogs" to explore when the weather's nice.

Rock Out

Rock, folk, country, indie, hip hop and electronic, the theatre attracts guests of all types to town to watch their favorite bands play. Their recent headliner, Flux Pavilion, just rocked the stage and more great shows are on the way including Moon Taxi on August 22nd and 23rd.

Chow Down

Speaking of "tastes," the theatre also features a top-notch rooftop bar serving wine, liquor, and beer including Georgia's best local craft beer. Not to mention the endless assortment of food you can enjoy while having a drink including burgers, grilled pimento cheese sandwiches, and tacos.

Invite The Crew

To top it all off, one of my favorite things about the Georgia Theatre is that it can also be rented out for events. Organizations across UGA have taken advantage of the premiere space including my sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, as we held our Parents Weekend event there in the past, and my parents are well-known for tearing it up on the dance floor there!
